My Current Evening Skincare Routine

When I get home at night, I can’t wait to wash my makeup off and let my skin breath. I also love switching up my cleansers each night since there are so many good ones and hey, it’s the simple things, right? Who’s with me? I have few in my rotation right now and I think you will love them as well.

I have combination skin, where by t-zone tends to be oily and the rest of my skin is normal to dry, so I like to use gentle exfoliators as well as products that will provide a bit of moisture without adding extra oil.

  1. The Acure Brilliantly Brightening facial scrub is fantastic. I’ve posted about it a few times because I am truly a fan. The scrub is green and has a medium grit texture that leaves your skin feeling smooth and fresh. Since it’s an exfoliator, I only use it two times a week and then the other cleansers in between.
  2. The Origins Modern Friction Cleansing Stick is more of a creamy exfoliator. It’s made of white and purple rice that gently buff your skin, but also leaves it feeling moisturized. It is good for all skin-types, even oily. For those with dry skin, Origins also makes the Modern Friction in a liquid form that is better suited for it. What I love about the stick formula is that it’s great for travel. I never have to worry about opening my suitcase to a mess.
  3. I have been using Farmacy products for a while, and was really excited to try their Green Clean makeup meltaway cleansing balm because of the texture. It is actually hard for me to describe it. It’s a balm, but it starts to melt into more of an oil with the heat of your skin. The Farmacy website describes it as having a “delicious sorbet texture,” but it also reminds me of the texture of a pore minimizing primer like the Smashbox Photo Finish, only a cleanser. I know I mentioned above that I try to stay away from adding oily products to my skin, but this washes off so easily so I was sold!
  4. OSEA Malibu’s Ocean Cleanser is my go-to when I want something light and fresh. It’s made of organic seaweed and includes a Vegan lactic acid made from beets to exfoliate and to minimize pores.  It’s also made for normal to combination skin. The Lime, Juniper, Jasmine and Cypress essential oils smell great and are meant to be energizing.
  5. After I am done cleansing my skin, I like to use a toner. I either go for my Valjean Labs facial mist in Clarify which contains Vitamin A and Witch Hazel which balances out any oil production that might happen during my sleep and helps keep my skin clear, or the belif Bergamot Herbal Extract Toner which balances out oil production, but also moisturizes. I also love that it removes makeup well. If I missed any stray makeup while cleansing, this will take care of it.
  6. Since your eyes are the first place that show the signs of age, I’ve recently started using an eye cream as preventative maintenance. I received a bottle of the Juice Beauty Soothing Eye Concentrate as part of a subscription box and have been using it for few months. I like that it is made with a lot of healthy ingredients and is not tested on animals.
  7. Lastly, when skin needs some added moisture, I’ve been using the belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb. It is a light gel-cream made with an herb called Lady’s Mantle which is known for being a great moisturizer as well as an pore minimizer.
  8. Goodnight 😉
